  The Politini Story

Politini’s Vineyard was established by Salvatore (Sam) and Josie Politini in 1989. Both born in Sicily, they migrated to Australia in the 1950s, later buying land in the King Valley. They diversified from growing tobacco by planting grape vines to supply fruit for a local winery and established a reputation for excellence in vineyard management and fruit quality.

In the year 2000, Salvatore’s Sicily meets the King Valley with the launch of Politini’s hand-crafted, cool-climate wines. To reflect the family’s heritage, and the opportunities offered by a new land, Politini’s logo is a modified version of Sicily’s traditional heraldic emblem, with an Australian sun flanked by three legs representing the island of Sicily’s three points.

Politini Wines is located at Cheshunt in north-east Victoria’s upper King Valley, about three hours’ drive from Melbourne. The vineyard is set at the base of the alpine ranges at 350m above sea level, where it enjoys warm, dry days and cool nights, with the hillside terrain’s fine red granite soil providing rich nutrients and good drainage.

Pride in our winemaking guarantees that Politini produces wine of a consistently high standard. Creating elegant, fruit-driven styles, enhanced by evident but subtle oak treatment.
