Cheese inspired cooking class | 6 stunning dishes 6 stunning Politini Wines

Imagine having fun cooking with cheeses and pairing with Wine?

This type of work day is the type of work day I dream of.   The idea of spending the day recipe testing, cooking, then spending a couple of hours tasting the dishes with the proposed wine matches is a much anticipated experience.  This could be you! We have done events for at the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival for 5 years running and this year sees yet another new innovation...

Exciting Cheese and Wine Paired Cooking Class

6 stunning Dishes 6 stunning King Valley Wines All inclusive!

It's an amazing menu (even if we do say so ourselves) with 6 dishes focused on cheese, but with an added surprise of Australian native flavours.  Each of the 6 dishes is complemented with a fabulous Politini wine from the King Valley!  Kick off with the assembly of Blinis and a fabulous Prosecco!

Here's a snapshot of what you can expect...

Think light souffle studded with minced prawns, embracing Emmental and Gouda, mixing it up with Native Salt Bush, and then perfectly paired with the ancient awesome Sicilian varietal "Grecanico".  A cross between a Chardonnay, Reisling and Sauv Blanc, this amazing match will tantilise you.

Think crispy croquettes filled with unctuous soft bacalao, ricotta and pecorino and chive stuffing served with an olive, orange and fennel salad on a leisurely ride with the awesome Pinot Grigio : pear, quince, yeast and  toasty heaven!

Think crispy puff pastry laced with an manchego artichoke parmesan pesto, topped with asparagus, house made Sicilian style salami and sprinkled with Bush Tomato slow waltzing in the arms of the elegant Sangiovese, beautifully paired with the cherry vanilla herbaceous characters of the wine.

Think orecchiette with blue cheese, bitter greens, & parmesan crumbs teaming up with aniseed myrtle in a rich Italian pork sauce, then the stunning embrace of the award winning Nero D'avola with its rich cherry, spice, savoury palate against a backdrop of velvety tannins.

Another great work day was the Official launch of "Eat Drink Westside".
As an umbrella part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, many event organisers got together to celebrate the launch.  Cameron Smith (presenter of "EAT IT" on Triple R since 1987)  took some time to interview Spice Bazaar's Patrick Aldred about our Cheese Inspired event, and also about the Spice Bazaar story.

Cameron's comments about how 'this is where the real Australian cuisine is" were very inspiring...
